ABOUT THE PROJECT
"Microworlds" is an attempt to redefine the forest landscape through a radical shift in perspective. Rejecting the habitual viewpoint of human eye level, the project redirects attention into the forest floor, a space that is often overlooked, intimate, and quiet.
Rather than documenting flora, the series draws upon the poetics of subjective photography and Alfred Stieglitz's concept of Equivalents. Modest natural forms, including fungi, heather, bark, and lichens, become organic architectures, carriers of emotion, and visual metaphors for endurance, protection, and light.
Presented as a cohesive triptych, the images create a three-part narrative revealing the mystery of nature: from concealed states, through a culmination of light, to a sculptural monolith.
TRIPTYCH STRUCTURE
I. Hidden
The opening image of the series. A worm's-eye perspective draws the viewer deep into the heather-covered undergrowth. A delicate canopy of branches forms a natural shelter above the slender silhouette of a mushroom, emphasizing themes of intimacy and persistence beyond ordinary sight.

II. Radiance
The emotional and compositional core of the triptych. Dramatic side backlighting from the morning sun illuminates the gill structure beneath the mushroom caps, transforming soft organic matter into a golden beam of vitality among mature oak leaves.

III. Endurance
The concluding image of the narrative. The sculptural, rock-like structure of a bracket fungus emerging from a tree trunk introduces a sense of cool permanence and monumental weight. The mottled textures of bark and moss create an architectural pillar that stabilizes the composition and unifies the triptych as a whole.

BEHIND THE SCENES & TECHNIQUE
Perspective & Body:
All photographs were made from the level of the forest floor (worm's-eye view). The absence of a tilting screen on the camera body required complete physical immersion in the environment, aligning the optical axis directly with the surface of the woodland floor.

Optics & Rendering:
Hidden: A Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D prime lens mounted on a DX-format camera was used to achieve soft tonal transitions and a painterly background (bokeh).
Radiance and Endurance: Tokina AT-X 100mm f/2.8 Macro.
Radiance and Endurance: Tokina AT-X 100mm f/2.8 Macro.
Focus Stacking Discipline:
In Radiance, working at f/2.8 with an extremely shallow depth of field, three exposures were focus-stacked in the field. This approach made it possible to maintain precise sharpness across both primary subjects while preserving the soft, selective character of the background. The technique reflects photography's long-standing pursuit of maximum clarity of form, realized through contemporary imaging methods.

O PROJEKCIE
„Mikroświaty” to próba redefinicji leśnego krajobrazu poprzez radykalną zmianę perspektywy. Odrzucając nawykowe spojrzenie z wysokości ludzkiego wzroku, projekt przenosi punkt ciężkości w głąb leśnego runa, w przestrzeń zazwyczaj przeoczaną, intymną i cichą.
STRUKTURA TRYPTYKU
I. W ukryciu
Wstęp do cyklu. Żabia perspektywa wciąga obserwatora w bezdroża wrzosowiska. Subtelne, maślane sklepienie z gałązek tworzy naturalną architekturę ochronną nad smukłą sylwetką grzyba, akcentując motyw intymności i trwania poza zasięgiem wzroku.

II. Blask
Emocjonalne i kompozycyjne serce tryptyku. Teatralne, boczno-kontrowe światło poranka prześwietla strukturę blaszek pod kapeluszami, zamieniając miękką tkankę w złocisty promień witalności pośród dojrzałych liści dębu.

III. Trwanie
Finałowe domknięcie narracji. Rzeźbiarska, skalista struktura huby wyrastającej z pnia wnosi chłodny, monolityczny ciężar. Pstrokata faktura kory i mchu tworzy architektoniczny filar, który stabilizuje kompozycję i spina cały układ w trwałą całość.

KULISY WARSZTATU
Perspektywa & Ciało
Wszystkie kadry zostały wykonane z poziomu leśnej ściółki (worm's-eye view). Brak odchylanego ekranu w korpusie wymusił fizyczne, pełne zanurzenie w plenerze i zrównanie osi optycznej z powierzchnią runa.

Optyka & Plastyka
W ukryciu: Stałoogniskowy obiektyw Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 D na matrycy DX pozwolił uzyskać miękkie, plastyczne przejścia tonalne i malarskie tło (bokeh).
Blask oraz Trwanie: Obiektyw Tokina AT-X 100 mm f/2.8 Macro.

Dyscyplina Focus Stackingu:
