My spring photography walk through Ostrów Tumski in Poznań felt like a journey through history and architecture, where light and composition became the key elements of each shot.
I started my walk at Bishop Jordan Bridge, which offered a picturesque view of the Archcathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul. The steel spans of the bridge added a dynamic contrast to the brick facade of the cathedral, creating depth in the photos and leading the eye toward the sacred structure.
The following shots captured the monumental presence of the cathedral—its towers crowned with green domes, intricate stonework details, and the central window with tracery. The spring light beautifully highlighted the texture of the brick and architectural details, while subtle shadows gave the images a three-dimensional quality.
I arrived at the Cathedral Lock and Gate of Poznań, where hydraulic fortifications provided a historic backdrop to the cathedral's sacred architecture. This spot, where the old and modern aspects of Poznań seamlessly blend, offered unexpected frames and perspectives.
